One pack of 3 pads gives 12 months cover for ponds up to 700 gallons.

Use one pad per 700 gallons, and place in area of good water circulation. (Pads will float and may be tethered just below the surface with string and a stone). Allow 2 to 3 weeks for pad to become fully active. Place second pad in pond after 4 months (approx.) and third pad after a further 4 months. Pads may be left to rot away completely.

The Microbial Booster Pellet contains two groups of microbes.

The first immediately reduces nitrates, starving the algae, which die back quickly.

The second group acts on the pond pad, breaking down the straw and kick-starting its long-term control action.

New Lavender Pond Pads for average sized garden ponds.

Mixed with the barley straw, these pads contain a proportion of lavender stalks which have been shown to be an even more effective natural algaecide than the straw itself.

They are not recommended, however, in systems without forced water circulation where there may be a shortage of dissolved oxygen in the water.

When Pond Pads are used in deep ponds it is possible for them to sink into the depths where they may be less effective in controlling algae. The Pond Pad Floater will hold a Pond Pad just below the surface, where it will work most effectively.

Dosage :

For Ponds with an Existing Algae Problem :

Add initial dose of 125mls per 4,500 litres/1000 gals (1.25 litres per 45,000 litres/10,000 gals) directly into pond water
To maintain : add 20mls per 4,500 litres/1000 gals (200mls per 45,000 litres/10,000 gals) every week in spring and summer

As a Preventative Measure :

Add 20mls per 4,500 litres/1000 gals (200mls per 45,000 litres/10,000 gals) every week in spring and summer

During particularly warm weather it is advisable to increase the frequency of dosing to maintain optimum results

If UV system is used : frequency of dosing should be increased to every 5 days
